- 6.5MediumSep 10, 2026Openwebui open webui Auth bypass / access controlCVE-2026-88006Open WebUI is an extensible, feature-rich, and user-friendly self-hosted AI platform. From 0.8.0 until 0.11.1, Open WebUI's OAuth token exchange endpoint issues a session for a provider access token without running the OAuth role management that the normal OAuth login callback runs. A user whose provider roles the login callback would refuse, or would demote, could still obtain a working session at their existing role through this endpoint. This issue is fixed in version 0.11.1.
- 6.5MediumSep 10, 2026Openwebui open webui Auth bypass / access controlCVE-2026-88005Open WebUI is an extensible, feature-rich, and user-friendly self-hosted AI platform. From 0.8.0 until 0.9.0, Open WebUI's OAuth token exchange endpoint issues a session for a provider access token without applying the email domain allowlist that the normal OAuth login callback enforces. An account whose email domain the login callback would refuse could still obtain a working session through this endpoint. This issue is fixed in version 0.9.0.

From 0.5.0 until 0.11.1, the message-chain reconstruction helper in backend/open_webui/utils/misc.py advanced through a chat history by map key but tracked visited entries using each message body's optional id field. An authenticated user could store id-less messages in a parent cycle and trigger a non-terminating walk that blocked the async event loop, grew memory until termination, and remained persistent acr

From 0.9.5 until 0.11.1, server-side web fetches did not reapply WEB_FETCH_FILTER_LIST or private-address controls to HTTP redirect destinations when AIOHTTP_CLIENT_ALLOW_REDIRECTS was enabled. An authenticated user could redirect the aiohttp and requests fetch paths to excluded hosts, loopback, private networks, or cloud metadata services and route resulting content into web search, URL ingestion, page-fetch t

From 0.10.0 until 0.11.1, DELETE /api/v1/chats/{id}/messages/{message_id} used the chat-history deletion helper in backend/open_webui/models/chats.py to follow childrenIds without recording visited message identifiers. An authenticated user could store a cyclic chat tree and delete a message, causing a synchronous infinite loop on the server request loop that blocked every user's requests until the process was

From 0.9.6 until 0.11.0, the sync cleanup endpoint authorized write access to the knowledge base in the URL but then acted on directory and file ids supplied in the request body without checking that those objects belonged to that knowledge base. A user with write access to one knowledge base could delete directories and remove file embeddings from another knowledge base, causing documents to drop out of retrie
- 5.3MediumAug 4, 2026Openwebui open webui Auth bypass / access controlCVE-2026-70487Open WebUI is an extensible, feature-rich, and user-friendly self-hosted AI platform. From 0.8.8 until 0.11.0, inline direct model metadata accepted client-supplied knowledge attachments without filtering them against the caller's read access. Any authenticated user who knew another user's file id could have the builtin knowledge tools return indexed chunks from that file, causing a read-only cross-user confidentiality loss while leaving knowledge-base permissions and saved workspace model valid
- 6.3MediumAug 4, 2026Openwebui open webuiCVE-2026-54020Open WebUI is an extensible, feature-rich, and user-friendly self-hosted AI platform. Prior to 0.11.0, Open WebUI resolved a hostname during URL validation and rejected private, loopback, and link-local addresses, but the HTTP clients resolved the hostname again at connection time. An authenticated attacker who controlled authoritative DNS for a submitted hostname could answer with a public address during validation and an internal one during connection, reaching cloud metadata, loopback admin A

From 0.7.0 until 0.11.0, the legacy chat-completions features block trusted a client-supplied image_generation flag and did not re-check the features.image_generation permission that the direct image routes and native function-calling path enforce. An authenticated user whose image-generation permission had been revoked could still consume the operator's configured image provider through chat completions, spend
- 3.1LowAug 4, 2026Openwebui open webui Auth bypass / access controlCVE-2026-70483Open WebUI is an extensible, feature-rich, and user-friendly self-hosted AI platform. From 0.9.6 until 0.11.0, DELETE /api/v1/chats/{id} cancelled a chat's in-flight tasks before checking whether the caller could delete that chat. Any authenticated user who knew another user's chat id could abort that user's running model response, title generation, or tag generation, even though the delete was refused and no chat data was deleted, modified, or disclosed. This issue is fixed in 0.11.0.

From 0.5.0 until 0.11.0, the standard channel message update and delete handlers accepted any caller holding write access on the channel without checking that the caller wrote the message. Because write access is the same grant a member needs to post, any ordinary participant in a shared standard channel could rewrite or permanently delete another participant message, while group and direct message handlers enf

From 0.9.6 until 0.11.0, with WEB_LOADER_ENGINE=playwright, the Playwright web loader validates only the top-level page request and lets sub-resource requests pass unvalidated. A page supplied by an authenticated user can use JavaScript to reach blocked internal addresses, and returned DOM can include data read from those addresses in web-search or RAG output. This issue is fixed in 0.11.0.
- 8.3HighJul 15, 2026Openwebui open webuiCVE-2026-56400open-webui before 0.3.14 contains a cross-origin resource sharing misconfiguration allowing arbitrary origins with allow_origins=* and authenticated requests to the /api/v1/functions endpoint. Attackers can execute arbitrary code on the openwebui instance by crafting malicious cross-site requests from attacker-controlled websites when an admin user visits them.
- 7.3HighJul 15, 2026Openwebui open webui XSSCVE-2026-56398Open WebUI before 0.9.5 contains a stored cross-site scripting vulnerability in the OAuth authentication flow where the picture claim URL MIME type is inferred from file extension rather than Content-Type header, allowing SVG files to bypass the profile image validator and be stored as data URIs. Authenticated users who visit the profile image endpoint receive attacker-controlled SVG content with inline disposition and no default security headers, enabling script execution in the same origin to

From 0.9.6 before 0.10.0, _sanitize_proxy_path in backend/open_webui/routers/terminals.py decoded proxy paths only eight times, allowing a nine-times percent-encoded ../ traversal value to pass normalization checks and be decoded by the upstream terminal server. This issue is fixed in version 0.10.0.
- 3.1LowJul 9, 2026Openwebui open webui Auth bypass / access controlCVE-2026-59715Open WebUI is an extensible, feature-rich, and user-friendly self-hosted AI platform. From 0.6.16 before 0.10.0, the Socket.IO server is configured with always_connect=True. The ydoc:awareness:update and ydoc:document:leave Socket.IO handlers accepted collaborative-document events without requiring an authenticated user, allowing unauthorized manipulation of document collaboration state. This issue is fixed in version 0.10.0.
- 4.3MediumJul 9, 2026Openwebui open webui Auth bypass / access controlCVE-2026-59227Open WebUI is an extensible, feature-rich, and user-friendly self-hosted AI platform. From 0.8.11 before 0.10.0, POST /api/v1/images/edit required only a verified account and did not enforce the global image-edit switch or the per-user image-generation permission, allowing a non-admin user to invoke server-side image editing with administrator-configured provider credentials. This issue is fixed in version 0.10.0.
- 3.1LowJul 9, 2026Openwebui open webui Auth bypass / access controlCVE-2026-59226Open WebUI is an extensible, feature-rich, and user-friendly self-hosted AI platform. From 0.9.0 before 0.10.0, execute_automation rehydrated automation owners without rechecking that they were still active or still had features.automations, and check_model_access only enforced private-model grants for the exact user role, allowing deactivated pending users to continue scheduled model execution. This issue is fixed in version 0.10.0.

Prior to 0.10.0, backend/open_webui/routers/terminals.py built the ws_terminal upstream URL from an unencoded session_id and appended user_id as a query parameter, allowing query injection to make the terminal backend resolve another user identity; the HTTP proxy path also forwarded X-User-Id as an integrity-unbound identity claim. This issue is fixed in version 0.10.0.
- 4.3MediumJul 9, 2026Openwebui open webuiCVE-2026-59223Open WebUI is an extensible, feature-rich, and user-friendly self-hosted AI platform. Prior to 0.10.0, WEB_FETCH_FILTER_LIST matching compared configured host entries against URL strings and non-label-boundary suffixes, allowing path-based blocklist bypasses such as !internal.example.com in a URL path and sibling-domain matches that did not reflect the intended hostname policy. This issue is fixed in version 0.10.0.
- 6.5MediumJul 9, 2026Openwebui open webui Information disclosureCVE-2026-59222Open WebUI is an extensible, feature-rich, and user-friendly self-hosted AI platform. From 0.7.0 before 0.10.0, GET /api/v1/channels//members returned full UserModelResponse objects for channel members, including settings.ui.toolServers[].key and webhook configuration, allowing a normal channel participant to retrieve other users’ sensitive settings. This issue is fixed in version 0.10.0.
- 6.5MediumJul 9, 2026Openwebui open webui Denial of serviceCVE-2026-59220Open WebUI is an extensible, feature-rich, and user-friendly self-hosted AI platform. From 0.9.2 before 0.10.0, the SKILL_MENTION_RE and strip_re regular expressions in backend/open_webui/utils/middleware.py parsed <$skillId|label> skill mentions with overlapping quantifiers, allowing an authenticated chat message containing <$ without a closing > to trigger quadratic backtracking and block the asyncio event loop. This issue is fixed in version 0.10.0.
- 7.1HighJul 9, 2026Openwebui open webuiCVE-2026-59219Open WebUI is an extensible, feature-rich, and user-friendly self-hosted AI platform. From 0.9.0 before 0.10.0 with Redis configured, Socket.IO connect, user-join, join-channels, join-note, and the terminal websocket first-message authentication used decode_token without the Redis-backed is_valid_token revocation check, allowing revoked JWTs to continue authenticating realtime connections. This issue is fixed in version 0.10.0.
- 5.3MediumJul 9, 2026Openwebui open webuiCVE-2026-59218Open WebUI is an extensible, feature-rich, and user-friendly self-hosted AI platform. Prior to 0.10.0, the /api/v1/auths/signin endpoint looked users up by email and only ran bcrypt password verification when a credential existed, making registered-account attempts measurably slower than missing-email attempts and allowing unauthenticated account enumeration. This issue is fixed in version 0.10.0.
- 4.3MediumJul 9, 2026Openwebui open webui Auth bypass / access controlCVE-2026-59217Open WebUI is an extensible, feature-rich, and user-friendly self-hosted AI platform. Prior to 0.10.0, the file upload path accepted metadata.knowledge_id and auto-linked uploaded files to a target knowledge base without applying the write-access check used by /api/v1/knowledge//file/add, allowing read-only knowledge-base users to add arbitrary files. This issue is fixed in version 0.10.0.
- 7.7HighJul 9, 2026Openwebui open webui Code / command injectionCVE-2026-59216Open WebUI is an extensible, feature-rich, and user-friendly self-hosted AI platform. Prior to 0.10.0, get_event_call delivered execute:python and execute:tool Socket.IO events to a client-supplied session_id after checking only that the session was connected, allowing authenticated users who learned another socket ID through ydoc:document:join to run code interpreter Python or tools in that user session. This issue is fixed in version 0.10.0.
