- 5.4MediumOct 21, 2026electron Auth bypass / access controlCVE-2026-113800Electron is a framework for writing cross-platform desktop applications using JavaScript, HTML and CSS. Prior to versions 42.11.3, 43.7.0, 44.3.0, and 45.0.0-alpha.5, hid and usb permission checks made from an iframe caused setPermissionCheckHandler to receive the top-level frame's origin and details instead of the requesting frame's. An application that delegated hid or usb to a cross-origin untrusted iframe and allowed device access with origin-based logic could therefore grant that embedded f
- 6.7MediumOct 13, 2026electronCVE-2026-102672Electron is a framework for writing cross-platform desktop applications using JavaScript, HTML and CSS. Prior to 39.8.10, 41.10.5, and 42.0.0-beta.2, Electron applications on macOS that use Squirrel.Mac-based automatic updates are vulnerable to a local race in the privileged ShipIt helper. The helper did not bind the validated update target to one canonical application-bundle path for the full installation, allowing a local attacker to redirect the root-level write so that it overwrites another
- 6.5MediumJun 30, 2026Electron builder-util-runtime Information disclosureCVE-2026-54673electron-updater allows for automatic updates for Electron apps. Prior to 9.7.0, the HTTP redirect handler (HttpExecutor.prepareRedirectUrlOptions) only stripped a credential header whose key string matched exactly lowercase "authorization", exposing credentials. Other credential-bearing headers — most notably PRIVATE-TOKEN (used by GitLab's personal access token flow) and mixed-case Authorization (used by GitLab's Bearer/OAuth flow) — were not stripped and could be forwarded to an attacker-cont
- 7.8HighJun 30, 2026electron-builder Privilege escalationCVE-2026-54672electron-updater allows for automatic updates for Electron apps. Prior to 26.15.0, AppImage targets built by app-builder-lib could use an empty path component when setting the LD_LIBRARY_PATH environment variable at runtime. This causes the current working directory to be added to the dynamic linker search path, which may allow an attacker to execute arbitrary code by placing a malicious shared library in the directory from which the AppImage is launched. This issue has been fixed in version 26.
